The enemy has turned hundreds of thousands of hectares of our fertile land into a death trap for peaceful residents.
As a result of the assessment conducted in the recently liberated territories of Ukraine, the scale of contamination of our land by explosive objects is impressive.
Thus, according to the information of the commander of the operational and strategic group of troops "Tavria", Brigadier General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, russian terrorists mined at least 680 thousand hectares of territory in the de-occupied part of Kherson region and another 200 thousand in Mykolaiv region.
It is currently not possible to determine the extent of mining of Ukrainian lands still under enemy occupation, but the forecasts are very disappointing. It will take years to make Ukraine and all its territories safe again.
Such actions of the russian federation are a war crime according to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
I appeal to the UN Commission for the Investigation of Human Rights Violations during the russian military invasion of Ukraine to take into account these facts of russian crimes and violations of human rights in Ukraine.
